Legendary music producer and composer Quincy Jones has passed away at the age of 91, according to Variety. Jones, who worked with music icons like Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, died Sunday night at his home in Bel Air, California, as confirmed by his representative, Arnold Robinson.

The news was shared in a heartfelt statement from Jones’ family, who said, “Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing. Although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

Throughout his remarkable 70-year career, Jones became one of the most decorated figures in music history, earning 28 Grammy Awards and shaping modern music with his work as a producer, arranger, and composer.

His influential collaborations with Michael Jackson began in 1979 with Jackson’s solo album Off the Wall and continued with the landmark albums Thriller and Bad, which helped redefine pop music worldwide.

Jones also made his mark in film music, composing scores for iconic movies such as the 1969 film The Italian Job, starring Michael Caine.

His accomplishments in music production were further recognized with six Grammys for his 1990 album Back on the Block, and he was honored three times as Producer of the Year.
