The Nigeria Police Force has granted a 30-day grace period from today May 1, 2025, to all motorists to regularise their tinted glass permits as it reactivates the digital Tinted Glass Permit platform.

The Force spokesperson, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, who made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, also warned that police officers found extorting or harassing motorists during enforcement would face strict disciplinary action.

The digital permit system, according to the Force, is aimed at improving transparency, while the reactivation of the permit system followed widespread public complaints, especially from owners of vehicles with factory-fitted tinted windows.

He said the new digital permit system issuance of Tinted Glass Permits has been reactivated nationwide through a secure online platform available at https://possap.gov.ng which will integrate identity verification using the National Identification Number and Tax Identification Number, biometric data capture, background checks, and QR-coded permits for easy verification.
