In Rachel Sennott’s new comedy series, Leighton Meester plays a classic L.A. publicist who oversees Maia, Sennott’s character. While the role isn’t based on her real-life experiences, Meester admits some aspects felt familiar.

She shared that she’s worked in toxic environments before, relating to the show’s storyline about a boss who doesn’t support their employee.

Her costar Josh Hutcherson jokingly acted surprised by her admission, prompting Meester to laugh and say, “I know, it’s shocking.”
