New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd remains hospitalized with a bullet lodged in his right lung after being shot early Sunday in New York City. The 29-year-old is in stable condition following multiple surgeries, according to ABC reports.
The shooting occurred around 2 a.m. outside Sei Less on West 38th Street, where Boyd was with two teammates. Investigators are probing whether the incident stemmed from an attempted necklace theft. Surveillance footage shows the unidentified suspect.
Boyd, initially in critical condition, has since spoken with police. The Jets acknowledged the incident but declined further comment. Teammates publicly asked for prayers and support as he recovers.
Sei Less said the altercation happened outside after closing and that it is cooperating with authorities. Boyd joined the Jets in March 2025 but has not played this season due to a training-camp injury.
