The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has granted administrative bail to Nigerian social media activist Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, though he remains in custody and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions.

The EFCC announced the bail yesterday via a statement on its official Facebook page, but did not disclose the specific terms.

Otse’s arrest follows multiple serious allegations related to financial crimes, with the EFCC stating that he had repeatedly ignored invitations to answer questions regarding the accusations.

The investigation is still ongoing, and while Otse’s supporters are calling for transparency, his legal team has yet to release a formal statement on the matter.
