Nigerian disc jockey Rachel Oluwabukola Martins, widely known as DJ Dimple Nipple, has accused immigration officials in the Philippines of racial discrimination, harassment, and degrading treatment during a recent visit to Manila.

In a statement titled “My Manila Immigration Nightmare” shared on Instagram on Monday, Martins recounted how she and her best friend were allegedly mistreated upon arrival—despite having valid travel documents, including visas, return tickets, and support from the Nigerian Embassy.

According to Martins, their ordeal began shortly after landing in Manila. What was meant to be a professional trip quickly became what she described as one of the most traumatic experiences of her life.

“I was genuinely thrilled about performing in the Philippines,” she wrote. “I invested heavily in preparations, handled all logistics, and was really looking forward to the event.”

Detailing the timeline of their journey, Nipple explained that their flight left Lagos at 3:00 PM on Friday and arrived in Qatar by 12:20 AM after a 7-hour, 20-minute flight. After navigating the airport, they boarded their connecting flight to Manila, scheduled for 1:30 AM. Although the flight was delayed for about an hour due to weather conditions, they eventually departed and spent over 9 hours in transit.

“By the time we arrived in Manila around 4:00 PM, everything took a dark turn,” Martins said.

She alleged that upon reaching immigration, they were subjected to strip searches, filmed without consent, and detained overnight in conditions she likened to a holding facility. They were forced to sleep on the floor, despite meeting all legal entry requirements.

Martins’ account has sparked outrage online, with many calling for diplomatic intervention and a deeper investigation into the incident.
