African Giant, Burna Boy, received the No. 1 rank on Billboard’s 2023 year-end U.S. Afrobeats Artists chart.
According to Billboard, “the global superstar captures the top spot thanks to a leading 26 entries during the 2023 chart year (Nov. 19, 2022–Oct. 21, 2023) on the weekly U.S. Afrobeat Songs chart, which measures the top 50 Afrobeats songs based on a formula blending U.S. sales and streaming activity.”
Thanks to the popularity of the song “Calm Down,” which features Selena Gomez, Rema is ranked second among Afrobeats artists. Tems is the top-ranked female artist on the ranking for the second year in a row, which puts her in third place.
With her hit song “People,” Libianca comes in at number four. The song topped the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for 34 weeks and peaked at number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100. The top five is completed by Wizkid.
