Former Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, now at Burnley, has filed a £1 million lawsuit against United, alleging “clinical negligence” in medical care during his time at Old Trafford.

The case relates to spinal injuries sustained in 2020 and 2022, which Tuanzebe claims have left him unable to play without restrictions. He alleges United failed to provide adequate rest and specialist treatment, causing chronic pain and impacting his career and earnings.

Tuanzebe, an academy graduate who left United in 2023 after 17 years, seeks damages exceeding £1 million. Manchester United has declined to comment.
