The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the vice Presidential Candidate Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as well as other PDP leaders led a PROTEST MARCH yesterday to the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Abuja to express their disappointment over the non-upload of the Presidential results on the IREV Platform.
Spokesperson Atiku/Okowa Campaign Council Daniel Bwala, in an interview said the leadership of PDP among other demands is asking the INEC to “cancel the election” – maintaining that the process was “compromised.”
The former PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiya in his remarks said the party’s disaffection is in connection with the promise which the INEC boss failed to keep.
Meanwhile, INEC has insisted that it had no allegiance to any party just as the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, advised Atiku to respect his age, averring that the PDP’s protest to INEC headquarters was a new low of absurdity, and go to the court where his grievances would be heard not at INEC headquarters.
Tinubu had disagreed with Atiku on the conduct and result of the election, saying the PDP candidate had no chance of winning the poll and should stop causing traffic snarls in Abuja via protest.
