Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has resigned from
office.
The junior minister had reportedly submitted his letter of resignation to President
Muhammadu Buhari last Friday
This comes after Sylva, who had governed Bayelsa for one term and still has
constitutional rights to contest for another tenure, declared his intent to participate
in the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election on April 14, in
preparation for the Bayelsa governorship election.
