Sophie Grégoire is sharing how she’s processing Justin Trudeau’s new relationship with Katy Perry. Speaking on the Arlene Is Alone podcast, Grégoire said it’s completely natural to feel affected when an ex begins dating again — especially in the public eye.
She explained that while certain headlines can be triggering, she chooses to focus on what grounds her rather than reacting emotionally. Grégoire admitted she still feels everything deeply — sadness, anger, tenderness — but emphasized that her response to those emotions is her choice.
Her comments follow Trudeau and Perry’s first public appearance as a couple in Paris on Oct. 25. The pair were first seen together in July. Grégoire, who split from Trudeau in 2023 after 18 years of marriage, said she allows herself to feel disappointment or sadness but avoids staying in a reactive state.
She added that despite living separate lives, she and Trudeau remain united as parents to their three children — Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien — and continue to prioritize their family’s stability.
