Rema, Burna Boy, Asake lose out on Brit Awards

The 44th edition of the Brit Awards ceremony presented by British Phonographic Industry (BPI) was held at the weekend, at the O2 Arena in London.

Nigerian superstars Burna Boy and Asake lost the Best International Artist category to American R&B superstar SZA.

Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ nominated for the International Song of the Year lost to Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’.

Elsewhere, Raye clinched Songwriter of the year, Artist of the year, Best Artiste, Beart R&B Act, Song of the year with Escapism featuring 070 Shake, and her album My 21st Century Blues clinched Album of the year.

Jungle was named Group of the year, Boygenius grabbed International group of the year Miley Cyrus Flowers, was named International song of the year, Best dance act went to Calvin Harris, Best pop act went to Dua Lipa, while Producer of the year went to Chase and Status
