Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has opened a TikTok page, days after former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai joined the platform.

Obi announced his arrival on TikTok via his X handle on Tuesday, and uploaded a video seeking followership, aligning with his vision of a “new Nigeria that is possible.”

El-Rufai, on the other hand, opened his TikTok page last Wednesday, using it to engage with Nigerians on politics and his new party, the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

El-Rufai’s account quickly gained traction, surpassing 200,000 followers within 24 hours. His TikTok bio describes him as an “accidental public servant, certified ruffler of feathers, and deliberate SDP member.”
