Paul Calls for Stronger IP Laws to Protect Nigeria’s Music Legacy

In a recent podcast interview, Nigerian music icon, Paul Play, advocated the need to address Nigeria’s lack of proper intellectual property law.

Paul Play said the nature of his agreement with his then label, Kennis Music, has made it impossible for him to make his songs available on streaming platforms.

He also shared that since exiting Kennis Music, he hasn’t received any royalties. 

The RnB singer and music producer also raised eyebrows of some artistes sampling his music without obtaining due permission.
