Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bafana Bafana of South Africa and Squirrels of Benin Republic, due to injury.

Head coach Finidi George has already extended invitation to Enugu Rangers left back defender Kenneth Igboke as his replacement, thus increasing the number of home-based players in the team to three, after Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo and Remo Stars’ Sodiq Ismail 

The Super Eagles are expected to open camp for the qualifying fixtures this weekend.

The three-time African will host South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday, June 7, then travel to Abidjan to face Benin Republic three days later.
