Nigerian music star Omah Lay has stirred debate after boldly declaring himself the best artist of the last two decades.

In a recent interview with Nandoleaks, the singer said his artistry, sound, and creativity put him ahead of everyone else in the industry.

He, however, named Burna Boy as the only artist he sometimes considers on his level, citing his global success and consistency.

Beyond the bold claim, Omah Lay is also gearing up for his sophomore album Clarity of Mind, set to drop April 3. The 12-track project features Elmah, a TikTok talent signed to his Boy Alone label, and explores themes of mental health and personal growth.

The singer has already shared handwritten production credits tied to songs like “Jah Jah Knows” and “Artificial Happiness,” while describing the upcoming project as one of the greatest Afrobeats albums ever.
