Former Ohio teacher Hannah Freeman broke down in tears as she was sentenced to jail for stalking her ex-boyfriend, in a tense courtroom moment that sparked a brief dispute.
The 27-year-old, previously a fourth-grade teacher at Ranger High-Tech Academy in North Ridgeville, was sentenced to seven days in Cuyahoga County Jail and 18 months of probation for stalking her ex over a month in 2024.
According to WKYC News, Freeman followed the man to work 33 times over 19 days, and was accused of breaking into his car and stealing $1,100 worth of belongings, including his wallet, two backpacks, and two laptops.

She was arrested in November 2024 and placed on administrative leave. The school district stated the case was unrelated to her job but pledged full cooperation with authorities.
The sentencing took a sharp turn when Freeman’s attorney, Michael Kinlin, interrupted Judge David Matia, arguing the sentence differed from what had been previously discussed.
