NPFL To Review Players’ Minimum Wage From Next Season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has revealed plans to upgrade the minimum wage of players in the league from N150,000 to an undisclosed amount, starting from next season.

The NPFL Chairman, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, who disclosed this during a live program on radio yesterday in Lagos, said the current economic situation in Nigeria demands a review of the players’ wages.

Elegbeleye furthered harped on the league’s commitment to the players’ welfare, expressing disappointment that some clubs still pay lower than the N150,000 minimum wage benchmark.
