The Nigeria Premier Football League has fined El-Kanemi Warriors FC ₦3.5 million for crowd disturbances during a match against Ikorodu City.
In the breakdown, the club was fined ₦1 million for failing to provide adequate security, which allowed unauthorised individuals to access restricted areas and harass match officials.
An additional ₦1 million fine was imposed for supporters throwing objects onto the field, and another ₦1 million for the club’s failure to control their fans, resulting in damage to Ikorodu City’s vehicle.
El-Kanemi Warriors who will play their remaining home games behind closed doors, must also pay ₦500,000 in compensation to Ikorodu City for the vehicle damage.
