Billionaire banker and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu, says he is evaluating the possibility of owning a Nigerian Premier Football League club as part of his Corporate Social Responsibility.

Elumelu hinted at the prospect during discussions surrounding private ownership of clubs in Nigeria with the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh.

In response to a suggestion by X user LawyerDay, proposing that big corporations in Nigeria should acquire league clubs as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Elumelu acknowledged the idea positively, indicating that he, along with other prominent figures in Nigeria, has been contacted by the Sports Minister to evaluate the feasibility of such acquisitions to further develop the league.
