The National Examinations Council, NECO, says it has paid the allowances of all 72,138 examiners engaged as ad-hoc staff in the 2024 School-based Senior School Certificate Examination.
Its Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, in a statement yesterday, explained that the Council commenced payment of the examiners allowances on October 4 on bank basis, and had finished yesterday.
Sani therefore urged members of the public to disregard stories making round on the social media that the Council had deliberately refused to pay the examiners.
