NCDC Reports Rising Cerebrospinal Meningitis Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported a rising number of suspected Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) cases across the country, with children aged 5-14 years the most affected group.

The NCDC’s official website stated on Sunday that, 315 suspected cases were reported in three states: Kebbi, Sokoto, and Yobe, 38 of which were confirmed positive, resulting in 14 reported deaths.

The NCDC stressed the need for ongoing surveillance and public awareness to help control the disease’s spread, while encouraging the public to report any symptoms and seek immediate medical attention, though the Toll-Free: 6232 or its website.
