Andy Murray has retired injured, in what is likely to be his final appearance at The Queen’s Club.
The three-time Grand Slam champion and former world number was playing against Australia’s Jordan Thompson, less than 24 hours after winning his first-round match against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin, and was losing 4-1 in the first set when he pulled out.
Murray received treatment around the lower back area and hips after three games. It was later confirmed Murray had an issue with his back.
It was a sad way to leave for the 37-year-old Briton, who is expected to retire later this year after he plays at Wimbledon, which begins on July 1.
