India, Indonesia, Poland and Turkey are among the other countries that hope to host the 2036 Olympics.
Mexican Olympic Committee head Maria Jose Alcala told reporters that having spoken with the International Olympic Committee, they saw that the competition is very tough, but Mexico was now considering a bid to host the Youth Olympic Games instead.
Mexico hoped to host the 2036 Olympics, and it would have been the second time that the Latin American nation would host the Summer Games, having done so in 1968.
