Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League remains seven points after a 2-1 win over Wolves on Sunday.

It responded to Arsenal’s 2-0 victory at Leicester 24 hours earlier that initially cut the lead to four.

Manchester City were the big winners in the race for a place in next season’s Champions League with a 4-0 demolition of Newcastle, while Nottingham Forest lost 2-1 to Fulham and Chelsea were beaten 3-nil at Brighton.

Everton’s new form under David Moyes continues with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Tottenham defeated Manchester United 1-nil, Brentford beat West Ham 1-nil, and Bournemouth defeated Southampton 3-1.

Liverpool would be up against Aston Villa in midweek action, and could open up a 10 point gap at the top.
