Liverpool took a big step to winning the Premier League, crushing Manchester City 2-nil yesterday. 

The victory sends Liverpool 11 points clear at the top of the table although they have played a game more.

Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest 4-3, Aston Villa clinched a 2-1 win against Chelsea, Arsenal were beaten 1-0 at home by lowly West Ham, Manchester United managed a 2-2 draw at Everton.

Other results saw Tottenham beat Ipswich 4-1, Brighton beat Southampton 4-nil, Brentford beat Leicester city 4-nil, while Crystal Palace beat Fulham 2-nil.
