Lagos Government reduces transport fare by 50% over cash and fuel scarcity

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the reduction of transportation fare in the state by 50 per cent. 

While addressing journalists yesterday at the Lagos House in the Marina, Gov. Sanwo-Olu said from 9th of February that all Lagos state transport operators such as BRT buses, LAGRIDE taxi-scheme, First Mile and Last Mile buses, and Lagos Ferry Services (LAGFERRY), are to follow the directive to cushion the effect of fuel scarcity and currency redesign, while also announcing the establishment of food banks at various locations for vulnerable citizens.

While thanking Lagosians for their patience and endurance in the past days, the governor also charged security agents to continue to keep the city safe.

The governor also announced the suspension of road construction along Buba marwa road in ijegun Egba to enable tankers operate 24 hours by lifting petroleum to  other parts of Lagos state as well as other States in Nigeria to end the fuel scarcity.
