The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan for the forthcoming Afropolis Dance event.
The state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, in a statement yesterday noted that the event, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, was scheduled for nine days, starting Oct. 26 and ending Nov. 3, while lasting 24 hours daily.
He said that, consequently, there would be a full road closure of J Randle Road, Onikan, Lagos, between Lagos City Mall and National Museum before Onikan Roundabout for the event.
Mr Qudus Onikeku, the festival initiator, disclosed at a news conference that the Afropolis Lagos Festival with the theme “Within New Myth”, would see tourists register to attend the festival through afropolis.org, as individuals would only be required to pay N3,000 per day or N15,000 for the nine days.
