Kanye West has revealed who he would want to play him in a movie. Ye took a break from all the drama of his YZY SZN 9 fashion show in Paris to share his thoughts on who he feels could best capture the Kanye magic in a biopic motion picture.
“My pick is Jamie Foxx One of the greatest geniuses,” Ye wrote. Jamie Foxx is a very close friend of Kanye West’s, as the pair have worked together numerous times, including on Ye’s 2006 smash “Gold Digger,” which has now been certified 8x platinum by the RIAA.
The legendary comedian recently spoke to HipHopDX on the red carpet of his new Netflix film Day Shift, and said he actually reunited with his old friend relatively recently. “The last studio session was a while ago, but the last time I ran into Ye, it was a good meeting,” Foxx said. “I won’t divulge the details but just hugged that brother and said ‘I love you man.’”
He added: “And with Ye, Me and Snoop was talking bout this in the interview. Ye got some magic.” Aside from hypothetically casting his longtime collaborator to play him in a movie, Ye has been fully embroiled in yet another scandal, this time involving his “White Lives Matters” t-shirt that he debuted at the YZY SZN 9 show earlier this week. He’s been criticized by Tremaine Emory, Boosie Badazz and Ahmaud Arbery’s mother for the shirt, and for additional comments he made surrounding Black Lives Matter being a “scam.”
However, the Yeezy mogul responded to the backlash by questioning where the uproar was when he wanted to see his kids amidst his messy divorce from Kim Kardashian. “So why did everyone feel so free to attack me about my t-shirt but Candace Owens was the only public figure to say that it was wrong for the Kardashians to keep me from seeing my daughter,” he wrote to Instagram on Wednesday (October 5), referring the conservative political pundit.
“Or we just chime in when we want to tear a Black man down for actually having a different political opinion? “And for all audience so outraged about my t-shirt where were you when I couldn’t see my kids? I went public in hope of public support at the time.”
However, not everyone seems to be against Kanye. Ye recently thanked Drake for his supposed support amidst the controversy.
