Renowned Nigerian dancer Kafayat Shafau, widely known as “Kaffy,” has unveiled plans to celebrate her 25th anniversary as a professional dancer in 2025.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday, Kaffy announced her intention to organize mentorship and coaching classes for aspiring dancers as part of the anniversary celebrations. She will also launch an online mentorship platform called “Kaffyverse.”

“In commemoration of my 25th anniversary as a professional dancer, I want to give more to society. There are lots of programs planned to expose Nigerians to the exploration and exportation of the economic value that the creative industry holds,” Kaffy stated.

She highlighted that the “Kaffy Kreative Expo,” scheduled to take place from August 6 to August 10, 2025, will focus on monetizing dance. The expo will showcase the entire creative industry, emphasizing the interconnectedness of dance with fashion, music, health, education, film, and more.

Kaffy noted that she has positively impacted over 5,000 youths throughout her career, thanks to the support of various individuals.

Kaffy gained international recognition in 2006 by winning the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Dance Party” at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon.
