For the occasion, Simpson wore a dazzling silver metallic gown and debuted a fresh hair makeover. She had recently switched to a new dirty blonde shade, which she teased earlier on Instagram by sharing a video from her American Idol rehearsal. In the video, she was seen standing on the steps of her trailer, with her new song “Use My Heart Against Me” playing in the background.

Simpson’s hairstylist, Rita Hazan, described the new blonde hue as a “desert sunset blonde,” noting the color was more natural and reminiscent of “a kid on the beach.” Hazan also shared that it took two hours to achieve the look, adding a warm, sun-kissed glow to Simpson’s style.
