As one of Nigeria’s greatest hip-hop artists, Illbliss has established a reputation for himself and his music has helped to advance and commercialise rap music in the country.
Illbliss has announced the impending arrival of his new album titled ‘Sideh – Kai’.
Afropop performers Teni, Fave, Lade, Afrobeat star Made Kuti, Highlife duet Umu Obligo, and rappers Vector and Odumodublvck are scheduled to make guest performances on the album, which is scheduled for release on February 16, 2024.
Illbliss has not released a solo album since 2020, making this his sixth overall. The 2023 release of the single “Chukwu Ebuka,” starring Umu Obligo, precedes the 16-track album.
“Sideh – Kai” has the potential to further solidify Illbliss’s reputation in Nigerian hip hop, as he was instrumental in the growth of Igbo rap music.
As the head of a record company, Illbliss, who founded the Capital Hill label with renowned cinematographer Clarence Peters, was instrumental in the development of Afrobeats through the careers of singers such as Phyno, Chidinma, Tha Suspect, and Miss Kizz.
