Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has voiced frustration after his side’s late collapse in a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
City took an early lead through Erling Haaland, who marked his 100th Premier League appearance with a goal. But Brighton turned the game around, with 2 goals to seal victory.
Guardiola says his team “lost control” in the closing stages but insists City will regroup, with derby day against Manchester United and a trip to Arsenal on the horizon.
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Arne Slot praised his side’s resilience after a narrow 1-0 win over Arsenal at Anfield. Dominik Szoboszlai was the hero, scoring a late free kick while filling in at right-back. Slot says the result shows his squad’s strong mentality despite a challenging start to the season.
And in London, West Ham manager Graham Potter hailed a “vital confidence boost” after his side thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0. Bowen, Paqueta, and Wilson scored late goals to seal the victory, while Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo admitted disappointment and hinted at talks with club owner Evangelos Marinakis over future plans.
