The goal of Move Afrika is to establish a first-of-its-kind international music touring circuit around Africa over an extended period of time, encouraging economic investment, the creation of jobs, and the encouragement of entrepreneurship in each host nation. The news made today comes after the first-ever Move Afrika: Rwanda event last month, which was organised by Global Citizen, pgLang, and the Rwanda Development Board and included Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar.
More than a thousand Rwandans were hired by the event, which also utilised 75% local crew and production staff. Opportunities for skill development and international event training were given special attention.
Numerous people hailed the show as the most successful live music event to be held in Rwanda. Zuchu, Bruce Melodie, DJ TOXXYK, Sherrie Silver, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi King, and Bruce The 1st were among the performers.
In 2022, Global Citizen had the incredible Global Citizen Festival: Accra. This year, the organisation is delighted to be back in Ghana with Move Afrika: Ghana.
According to a post-event report by the Ghanaian government, the festival had a significant social and economic impact: The economy was stimulated by more than $15 million through activities like production expenditure, lodging, transportation, advertising, and security;
