French Montana has completed an autobiographical documentary, which has been executive produce by Drake and will offer fans insight into his journey as an immigrant.

The rapper discussed his latest endeavor during a recent appearance on Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson. While he didn’t provide details about when or where the film would be released, he gave Tyson and Angie Martinez a synopsis of the project. “It’s called For Khadija, that’s for my mother,” the rapper born Karim Kharbouch explained. “You know she came out here and sacrificed for us. My father had left and she stayed, and she helped me become who I became, so I dedicated it to her. Drake is executive producing it.

French continued: “It’s a real immigrant story, coming from Africa — I’m from Morocco — to the Hip-Hop culture in the Bronx and really just being in culture shock. Not knowing English when I was 13 when I came. And just taking it from there.” Born in Casablanca, the largest city in Morocco, French initially began his career by making street DVDs of his work and released his first of many mixtapes ‘French Revolution Vol. 1’ in 2007.

After years of independent material, he signed a joint-venture record deal with Puff Daddy’s Bad Boy Records and Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group in 2012. His first studio album, Excuse My French, debuted at fourth position on the US Billboard 200 in 2013. French Montana’s latest release Coke Boys 6, a Gangsta Grillz collaboration with DJ Drama, was unleashed Friday (January 6) and is available in two versions.

The “classic version,” as French described on Twitter, comes with 20 tracks and features Benny The Butcher, A$AP Rocky, Kodak Black, EST Gee, Vory, Jeremih, the late Chinx and more. Coke Boys 6: Money Heist Edition, meanwhile, features an additional nine extra tracks from up-and-coming artists such as Kenzo B, Mr. Chicken, LGP QUA, YNP Maine, Bando Gz and more. Coke Boys 6 is the latest entry in French Montana’s fan favorite Coke Boys mixtape series that began in 2010. The last Coke Boys project was CB5 which dropped in November 2020.

The “Unforgettable” rapper most recently put his Moroccan pride on display in support of the country’s national soccer team, which made history on December 10, 2022, when they defeated Portugal and soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo to become the first African country and the first Arab-speaking country to ever advance to the semifinals at the World Cup.

After hosting an impromptu rally in Times Square to celebrate the team’s historic win, French Montana commemorated Morocco’s World Cup achievements on the pitch with an anthem named after the country. “Morocco” was accompanied by a music video featuring highlights from the team’s World Cup Cinderella story, which ended with a loss to France in a semi-final match on December 14.
