The Federal Government on Monday night hosted a grand presidential dinner at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, to celebrate the Super Falcons’ historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu earlier received the team at the Presidential Banquet Hall, where the players were conferred with National Honours.
Each player received $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment at the Renewed Hope Estate, while technical staff were awarded $50,000 each in recognition of their contributions.
The celebration featured performances by music stars Flavour, Teni, Timi Dakolo, and Fido, adding excitement to the night.
The Super Falcons clinched their 10th WAFCON title with a dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over hosts Morocco in the final on July 26 at the Stade Olympique in Rabat.
