Canadian superstar Drake has set a new record, becoming the artist with the most songs surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify.

Known globally for his chart-topping hits and multiple awards, Drake continues to solidify his position as one of the most successful artists of the digital era.

Previously, Drake tied with Justin Bieber for having 15 songs with over a billion streams when his hit collaboration with Chris Brown, ‘No Guidance’, crossed the milestone. Rihanna also joined the elite group after her song ‘The Monster’ with Eminem achieved the same feat.

Drake has now leapfrogged both artists, securing his place as the record holder with his song ‘Hold On We’re Going Home’ surpassing 1 billion streams. This achievement extends his impressive catalogue of high-performing tracks on the platform.

Drake shows no signs of slowing down, with five more songs nearing the 1 billion mark, including Blockboy JB’s ‘Look Alive’, which is at 983,712,956 streams.

His recent record-breaking spree includes becoming the first artist to reach 100 billion streams across all credits on Spotify, a testament to his global appeal and influence in the music industry.

Following the release of his 8th solo album, ‘For All The Dogs’, in 2023, Drake tied with Michael Jackson for having 13 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to his chart-topping track ‘First Person Shooter’ featuring J. Cole. Additionally, Drake holds the record for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 this century, surpassing Taylor Swift with 14 albums.

Among Drake’s biggest hits is his 2013 global single ‘One Dance’ featuring Wizkid and Kyla, which has over 3 billion streams and stands as one of the most streamed songs of all time on Spotify.
