The Federal Capital Territory High Court has granted the immediate past Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele’s request to travel out of the Abuja.
Justice Hamza Muazu who handed the ruling however said Emefiele must however remain in the country.
The Counsel to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, did not object. But later news filtered that the EFCC is set to arraign Emefiele today Friday, at the High Court in Abuja, on an amended 20-Count Charge.
The EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo confirmed that the fresh arraignment will take place before Justice Muazu with charges containing new counts relating to fraudulent award of contracts to Emefiele’s wife, Omoile Margret, his brother-in-law, Omoile Macombo & other associates.
The amended charges against Emefiele now include criminal breach of trust, forgery, conspiracy to commit forgery, procurement fraud, and conspiracy to commit felony.
