January 22, 2024

African Giant Burna Boy has been announced as one of the performing artists at the Grammys 2024 live award show in another historic feat for Africa.

According to a January 22, 2024, announcement, Burna Boy is slated to become the first African musician to perform at the Grammys live recording award event.

This is yet another historic achievement for the multi-talented Nigerian entertainer, who in 2021 won a Grammy for Best Global Album, making him the first artist from within the Nigerian music business to do so. The album, “Twice As Tall,” was his fifth album.

Burna Boy has four nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards, which are set for February 5. This is a record for Nigeria in terms of the most nominations in a Grammy year. His song “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” featuring 21 Savage, is one of his nominees for Best Melodic Rap Performance. This makes him the first Nigerian lead artist to receive a nomination outside of the global categories.

After making an appearance at the 2020 Grammys Premiere show, Burna Boy will be singing at a Grammy event for the second time in 2024.
