Housemates of Big Brother Naija Season 10, themed Big Brother Naija: 10/10, have suffered their first major setback of the season after losing their inaugural wager task.

The announcement came during their wager presentation on Friday, with Big Brother—popularly known as Biggie—delivering a blunt verdict. The loss means housemates will now endure limited provisions and reduced welfare for the coming week.

The task required contestants to stage an unmasking-themed performance based on a ballroom concept, complete with elaborate costumes and dramatic flair. Despite the build-up, Biggie was clearly unimpressed.

“Such an unremarkable performance,” he said. “Housemates, your presentation lacks imagination and substance… You have lost your wager.”

Biggie also reprimanded them for slow reactions and repeated microphone violations.

Before the task, Head of House Jason Jae was seen trying to boost morale, urging the group to stay focused and bring their best energy. Still, the final performance came off as chaotic and lacked cohesion.

Afterward, housemate Koyin attempted to address the group inside the arena, prompting Big Brother to call for a self-assessment. In response, Jason Jae and Rooboy admitted they had made an effort, but Biggie offered no leniency in his critique.

Interestingly, housemate Thelma had humorously predicted the outcome during her diary session, saying she planned to cook Egusi soup and eba before the task so they’d at least enjoy one good meal before an expected failure.

“The way these people are doing, they are not doing like people that will win their wager,” she quipped.

With their wager lost, the housemates now face a more challenging week under tighter conditions. The pressure continues to mount as the competition moves forward, with the show’s winner set to claim a grand prize of ₦150 million in cash and sponsor rewards, according to organisers MultiChoice.
