Barcelona have appointed former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick as their new coach, on a two-year contract.

Flick, who was sacked by Germany in September 2023, and has been out of work since then, takes over from Xavi Hernandez, who was sacked by Barcelona last week.

And Bayern Munich have appointed former Burnley coach Vincent Kompany as the new manager of the club.

The 38 year old Belgian, succeeds Thomas Tuchel and leaves Burnley for the Bundesliga side after the two clubs agreed a compensation fee, believed to be £10.2m.
