April 1 marks five decades of Apple and thinking different, with resulting innovations that have shaped culture and the way people connect, create, and experience the world. This afternoon, Apple launched its anniversary celebrations with an exclusive performance by Alicia Keys at Apple Grand Central.

Performing in front of a packed concourse, the 17-time Grammy Award–winning artist and producer delivered a 40-minute set of her timeless hits, accompanied by strings, guitar, and bass, perched atop the iconic steps at Apple Grand Central, overlooking Grand Central Terminal’s Main Concourse.

Apple Music radio host Ebro Darden emceed the event, welcoming guests and commemorating Apple’s milestone 50th anniversary.

Alicia Keys and Apple share a long-standing creative partnership built on performance, storytelling, and innovation. From performing at the iTunes Festival in 2012 and 2016, to featuring in the global Behind the Mac campaign in 2020, she has consistently showcased her creativity using Apple products and through Apple’s Services. In 2022, she was also among the first artists to release her catalog in Spatial Audio on Apple Music and headlined an Apple Music Live performance, which remains one of the most popular installments of the series on Apple Music. In 2024, Alicia Keys: Rehearsal Room was among the first Apple Immersive experiences for Apple Vision Pro, offering fans a unique glimpse into her creative process during an intimate rehearsal session.
