The CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 shattered digital records, pulling in 6.1 billion impressions and 5.2 billion video views across social media platforms.
CAF announced the figures on Wednesday, saying the tournament nearly tripled the reach of the previous edition and confirmed AFCON’s status as the most viewed continental football competition.
Fans drove the surge, especially from the African diaspora, generating 285 million interactions and flooding platforms with tournament-related content.
Morocco hosted AFCON 2025 from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. Senegal lifted the trophy, while Morocco and Nigeria finished second and third respectively.
