The transfer saga between Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman and Atalanta has escalated as Lookman reportedly went on strike to push for a move to Inter Milan.
He skipped pre-season training for the second day after submitting a transfer request last weekend and publicly accusing Atalanta of “broken promises.”
Inter’s improved bid of up to €45 million, including add-ons, was rejected last week after a €40 million offer was turned down. Inter is expected to meet Atalanta’s €50 million valuation following Lookman’s continued absence from training.
On Instagram, Lookman expressed frustration over the club blocking the move despite an offer meeting his expectations and cited months of poor treatment.
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi confirmed an agreement allowing Lookman to leave—but only to a top club outside Serie A. He stressed that Atalanta retains final say on player valuations and timing.
