Targets More age Groups Over 3rd wave and Delta Variant.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), has assured that more Covid-19 vaccines will arrive Nigeria by August in order to ensure adequate vaccination of the populace.

Director, Disease Control and Vaccine, Immunization, NPHCDA Dr Bassey Okposen who gave the assurance today on Classic FM Abuja, noted that though the first batch of the Astrazeneca vaccine has been exhausted, efforts are ongoing to secure more of the vaccines to administer to Nigerians who are yet to receive their second doses and those who are yet to receive at all.

The Director who cleared the air on the controversy surrounding the Efficacy of the AstraZeneca vaccine reassured that the vaccines are safe and that due to the third wave of covid-19 Virus, more Nigerians between age 18 and above will also be vaccinated.

He re-emphasized the need for Nigerians to come out and receive the vaccine and protect themselves from the virus while noting that the videos circulating on social media are aimed at deceiving the populace as they are false and tricky.
