Rap fans have been anticipating when 50 Cent and his old crew G-Unit would make an appearance on the artiste battle show Verzuz with his old crew G-Unit, as it would provide for an interesting showdown.

On Thursday, 50 Cent’s hit series “Power Book III: Raising Kanan at Hammerstein Ballroom” premiered in New York, and it brought forth the opportunity to address a potential Verzuz appearance, seeing that T.I. made matters a huge talking point last year, but 50 Cent seems to be focused on his new series now and when asked about joing a Verzuz battle, he said “A Verzuz battle? Probably not! We back outside, that was something that happened during the pandemic when we was stuck in the house. Now that we back outside, there’s other things to do. We supposed to be creating new history, not being back there.”

As for new history, 50 Cent is slated to be a headliner for Rolling Loud NYC in October — but hasn’t released an album since 2015’s The Kanan Tape, like his 2021 collaboration with NLE Choppa, “Part Of The Game,” the music was a thinly veiled vehicle to promote the Power brand. While it’s unclear if there’ll be a new album 2021, 50 Cent did link with NLE Choppa and DaBaby ahead of performing several hits at the Power Book III: Raising Kanan premiere.
