The Presidential Task Force has expressed concerned over the reopening of schools for exiting students.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation/Chairman of the Presidential Task Force Boss Mustapha speaking at the Covid-19 PTF briefing in Abuja stated that reopening the sector is a source of concern based on the fact that the school system remains a veritable ground for increasing community transmission if appropriate protocols are not put in place nor adhered to.
Our correspondent Nathan Williams reports that the Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire during the briefing noted that testing increased by over 40,000 in one month as the number of positive cases dropped by more than 2,000 warning that now is not the time to relax hence the need to continue to sustain the efforts.
While clearing the air with regards to the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq said the modified Home-Grown School Feeding Programme was not a SOLE initiative of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
She further clarified that she never said every Nigerian received Palliatives during the Lockdown as being reported in some quarters of the media noting that it is impossible for the Federal government to make available the palliative to every single Nigerian.
