Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast today at 7pm.
This is according to a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Mr Femi Adesina. Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.
Earlier, the National Security Adviser, NSA, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), disclosed that President Buhari will announce a ‘critical solution’ to the #ENDSARS nationwide protest in a couple of hours.
The NSA who this to State House Correspondent after the National Security Council meeting today, in Abuja, said Mr President had directed Security Agencies to apply much restraint and professionalism in discharge of their duties. He said Mr President does not want the problem to cascade into any unpleasant situation.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the NSA also admonished protesters to apply the brake in the ongoing actions and allow the government to execute its plans to meet the demands.
