Lagos State Government says it has re-energized its e-governance operations by activating the connectivity of thousands of computers from within and around the secretariat to enhance service delivery.
Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Hakeem Fahm, made this known in Alausa at the ongoing Annual Ministerial News Briefing to commemorate the One Year in Office of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
Mr. Fahm hinted that plans are underway to upgrade the current Metro Fibre network to support new and existing applications and devices in a bid to further digitize the state’s operations.
He noted that the main objective of the optimization was to increase network availability, performance and security of the State owned Tertiary Campus Enterprise Network, while at the same time stabilizing its ICT environment for a smarter Lagos.
Speaking on the role of Digital Technology in driving Lagos Economy, Mr. Fahm said that the State Enterprise GIS upgrade would boost developmental programmes such as security, aerial surveillance, search and rescue operations, health, mapping flood, erosion control and many more.
