Gonzalo Higuaín has agreed to join AC Milan on a season-long loan from Serie A rivals Juventus, according to Sky in Italy. AC Milan will also have an option to buy Higuain next summer for £32m. The move may have happened due to Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Turin, which made the Juventus attack look rather crowded.
The loan move could also pave the way for further deals to happen in which Mattia Caldara, the 24 year old heads to Milan with Higuain while Leonardo Bonucci will return to Juventus from Milan.
The 30 year old striker transferred to Juventus from Napoli in 2016 for a fee of €90 million paid in two installments. Higuain won two Serie A titles and also two Coppa Italia titles with Juventus. He managed to score 16 league goals in 35 Serie A appearances last season for Juventus, which is his lowest since he arrived in Italy from Real Madrid in 2013.
